The 4 key products that shaped my current minimalist skincare routine

Not going to lie: occasionally, I do enjoy a more comprehensive skincare ritual that involves more products. But on a day-to-day basis, I’ve found myself preferring multi-tasking products that allow me to simplify my morning and evening routines. In fact, the older I get, the lesser steps I want to incorporate. It’s not that I’m getting lazier, in case you’re wondering — I’d like to think I’m becoming more efficient.

I also know my skin a lot better now than when I was younger, which I believe makes a huge difference when it comes to knowing what is or isn’t worth a try. For your reference, I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and sensitive, dry cheeks.

Read on to learn more about the 4 leading characters in my current beauty world:

The Kindly Restore by State of Kind

This sustainable beauty brand from California focuses on creating multi-benefit skincare using high-performance organic ingredients.

The multi-tasking sleep concentrated called Kindly Restore is 100% natural. It’s formulated to repair and hydrate your skin while you’re sleeping. The key ingredients include bakuchiol oil, rosehip seed oil, and broad-spectrum CBD oil.

I’ve never used products with bakuchiol oil before but realized it’s actually great for my skin type because it helps reduce fine lines without irritating your skin or causing it to be more sensitive to the sun like retinol sometimes would.

I’ve been using this product for over a month now and have packed it with me when I traveled, too. I love how it soothes my easily irritated skin, I love the calming scent, and I love waking up the following morning to find my skin looking plump and healthy.

Alpyn_Beauty.jpg

The Wild Huckleberry 8-Acid Peel by Alpyn Beauty

This 100% vegan peel by Alpyn Beauty, a clean beauty brand from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is gentle enough to use daily. I’ve been using it every other morning — and I absolutely love how my skin feels as I start my day.

This peel has 8 natural acids, bamboo powder, and vitamin C. Together, it is formulated to help refine pores, even skin texture, and brighten your skin.

One of my biggest long-term skin concerns has been large, open pores so seeing a visible difference made me so happy.

You can apply a thin layer and simply leave it on for 5 minutes, or for added polish, you can massage in a circular motion with wet hands before rinsing the product off clean.

The Essential Mist by YINA

I’m a huge fan of mists, and this one by the AAPI-owned wellness brand YINA is my current go-to.

The base of this antioxidant mist is made of white tea and rosewater; the blend consists of Chinese Medicinal plants of Ginseng and Tremella. It’s designed to hydrate as well as protect your skin from environmental damage.

I use it after I wash my face but I also use it throughout the day. It refreshes and rebalances my combination skin. It also gives me the dewy look I like!

pink moon body oil.jpg

This multi-purpose product created by eco-conscious wellcare brand Pink Moon is amazing! It’s a moisturizing body oil but it is also designed to be used as a bath oil (by adding a few drops to your bath), as a hair oil, as a perfume (by dabbing a little bit onto your wrist), as well as a cuticle oil!

The floral scent is beautiful so I love that I can use this one product all over and not have to worry about “conflict of scents” which you can encounter when using several different products.

Made of organic sunflower seed, apricot kernel, and meadowfoam, Midnight Melody is fast-absorbing and vitamin-rich.

Let me know what you think if you try any of these products! I’d love to learn about your thoughts on them, too.

As always, thank you for stopping by Happily Ever Style.
