The best $20 sheet mask I’ve ever used and why you need to give it a try

Back in June, I was very fortunate to travel to Greece with my husband for a week. It was an amazing trip and a wonderful experience — except I got sunburned and came back looking like an unevenly-cooked shrimp (it was one of the 4 mistakes I made in Greece). When the redness eventually faded, my post sunburned skin (specifically my arms and my chest) became ultra sensitive and tender. The skin was super dry and really itchy, too.

On my body, I slathered on whatever lotion I already have and very quickly finished a few tubs. But on my face and neck, I (obviously) was more careful and diligent about picking the “right” products to use. Many that were recommended to me worked well, but the ONE product that really made the biggest difference was a $20 sheet mask that felt like a $200 at-home facial spa treatment.

It’s been a while since I last used a sheet mask because I tend to get lazy about using one in the summer. At most I would use are under-eye masks.

But when I mentioned my sunburned skin to my friend Lin who’s also the founder of Pink Moon, she recommended I give Yina’s sheet mask a try because it’s designed to soothe stressed, post-sun skin!

The mask is unique because it is made with traditional Chinese Medicine herbs — like ginseng and gotu kola — and skin-plumping peptides. In fact, each sheet goes through 21-days of fermentation!

Designed to use for various occasions

Designed to stimulate your skin’s natural process of rejuvenation, the mask is deeply hydrating and extremely soothing. It’s an amazing sheet mask to use post-sun but according to the brand, it’s also really great to use for jet-lagged skin after traveling or post-laser treatments!

We all have nights when we don’t sleep well for whatever reason, and I think the sheet mask is a fabulous one to use in the morning after those restless nights. Instead of looking tired, my skin would look healthy and dewy. I also suggested to my friend who just got married last week to use the sheet mask the night before her wedding — and her skin glowed all day on her big day!

Visible results in one application

I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw the very first time I used the sheet mask. After I removed it from my face, my skin looked visibly plumped and hydrated — it was literally as if my skin had just drunk a huge glass of water! My red cheeks were calmed but brightened as well.

So instead of tossing the sheet mask right away, I folded the sheet mask in half and placed it on my neck and chest for 5 to 10 minutes because those areas were looking drier than usual since the sunburn. And without fail, the sheet mask was able to really hydrate my skin; the serum from the sheet mask wasn’t just “floating” on the surface.

A great addition to your self-care ritual

The mask is rich in micro-nutrients — antioxidants, allantoin, amino acids, and vitamins — and makes a fabulous addition to your self-care ritual. It feeds your skin with nutritious ingredients but most importantly, it is a treat for both your body and mind because of its soothing nature that allows you to relax, inside and out. I found myself being completely okay not doing anything when I have the sheet mask on — rather than feeling bored and wanting time to pass quicker. And really, that is perhaps the strongest feature of the product!

Be sure to have an empty bottle ready

When you remove the sheet mask from its packet, you will find a good amount of serum remaining inside. You DO NOT want to waste it! So make sure you have something nearby and ready for you to store the serum so you can use it later. I placed it in the fridge and it felt absolutely amazing to apply to my itchy sunburned arms.
