Who says double-cleansing always involves a 2-step process? I recently discovered my favorite way to double cleanse and exfoliate my skin — and the best part is you can do it all in just one single step. It was actually a “formula” inspired by a sustainable plant-based skincare brand called Malaya Organics.
And just so you know, I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and ultra-dry, sensitive cheeks that go red easily. If this is okay for my sensitive skin, I believe it should work well on all skin types!
What you’ll need
The “recipe” is very simple; all you need is 3 things:
Face wash in powder form
Cleansing oil
Some water
The products I used in my video on Instagram are:
Herbal Facial Polish by Malaya Organics — an amazing brightening herbal powder that gently removes dead skin, and
Botanical Cleansing Oil and Makeup Remover by Activist Collective — an oil-based cleanser that removes stubborn makeup (including my waterproof mascara), sunscreen, and dirt. You can also use the Cleansing Oil and Makeup Remover by Malaya Organics, too. They’re both really great oil cleansers that my skin loves.
Because you’re making the mixture yourself with the 3 “ingredients,” you can decide on how “strong” you’d like the scrub to feel on your face. If you want it to be more gentle, simply add less of the powder. Otherwise, I personally like adding a 2:1 ratio of the powder to the cleansing oil and mixing it up with just a little bit of water.
When massaging the mixture onto your face, be sure to do it in a circular motion; you won’t need to apply too much pressure for it to work its magic! Once you rinse everything off, don’t forget to hydrate and moisturize your skin immediately after.
I hope you guys will find this useful! Let me know if you have any questions about the mixture. Feel free to leave your questions below or send me a DM on Instagram!
