The bump-friendly edit: 1 slip dress, 5 occasions
Iβm currently 20 weeks pregnant and it was about a little over a month ago when I started buying maternity clothes. I didnβt want to spend a lot on maternity clothes because I imagine I wonβt really be wearing them in the future unless I have a second baby. But even so, it would be short-term and a little wasteful!
If youβve been following me on Instagram or have been reading my blog posts, you know Iβm a supporter of slow fashion brands, and I always try my best to be more mindful and conscious of my purchases. So my goal was to find maternity clothes that are extremely versatile and I can potentially still wear postpartum.
One of the best purchases Iβve found so far has been the Ricky Slip Maxi Dress by Hatch β it doesnβt irritate my itchy skin (started in the first trimester), itβs comfortable to wear, and itβs extremely versatile. Plus, I actually find it quite flattering!
Some of my favorite ways to seemingly give the same dress a makeover include:
Adding a skinny silk scarf as a belt
Covering the top half with a cropped or wrap top to turn the dress into looking like a maxi skirt
Layering a top (or turtleneck in the winter) underneath the dress
Wearing a shirt or jacket over the dress
The best part about this slip dress is that you can easily dress it up for a more formal occasion, even a cocktail party! I would actually add bling jewelry, heels, and a clutch, and wear it to a wedding, too.

The Ricky Slip Dress by HATCH
Iβm 5β3β and usually wear a size 6 dress. Iβm wearing this slip dress in size 2 (Hatch has a different sizing system); the straps are adjustable which is really helpful!
