4 baby products I swear by: Must-haves for your baby registry

Creating a baby registry can feel overwhelming — there are just so so many products out there! And to be honest, I didn’t know where to start when I was pregnant. So I ended up referencing a friend’s baby registry and, in the process, learned about so many things that I didn’t even know existed. But also, there are a lot of products that I didn’t think I would want or need to use until after the baby was born, too.
Well, after 2+ years of motherhood, I know what I used, what I didn’t, and what I thought was a waste of money. I can also confidently say now that some baby items are absolutely worth the investment. These are the five products I swear by and would recommend to any new parent:
1. The Nanit Baby Monitor – The ultimate peace of mind
We tested two other baby cameras before finally landing on Nanit, and honestly, nothing compares. The bird’s-eye view that the camera offers is a total game-changer — you get the best angle to see your baby no matter where they move in the crib. Plus, Nanit saves sleep data so you can review past nights, track patterns, and get insights. The app is so easy to use, and the add-ons (like the breathing wear) are a great bonus.
My husband loves the fact that he can install the Nanit app on his phone, too (in addition to my phone and our mini iPad) because when he travels for work, he gets to check in on our son from anywhere.
There are times when my husband and I would catch him singing to himself which is so cute and we love being able to share those recorded footage with our parents, too.

2. BabyBjörn Harmony Baby Carrier – The MVP of baby gear
I truly don’t know how I would have survived as a new mom without this baby carrier. I have 3 baby carriers but the BabyBjörn Harmony one was the most used item in my son’s first 20 months — hands down. Whether we were at home, out for walks, traveling, or just needing a nap solution on the go, this carrier did it all. It’s comfortable, supportive, and designed to last until your child is 3 years old. My son is 2 and 3 months old now, and we still use it once in a while. And because it’s sleek and gender-neutral, my husband was happy to use it, too which was a bonus. I actually think I will be very sad when we won’t be able to use it anymore!

3. The Lalo High Chair – Functional & aesthetically pleasing
Baby gear isn’t always pretty, but the high chair — otherwise known as The Chair — by Lalo is! The high chair blends right in with our dining space while still being incredibly sturdy and practical. It was so easy to assemble, super easy to clean, and it made me love the brand overall.
This was the first Lalo item we got. Later, we also got the Play Table and Chairs, The Tower, and The Play Kitchen, too. We always get compliments when we have people over and most importantly, my son adores them all.
4. House of Noa Play Mats – Non-Toxic & so stylish
Most play mats are in rainbow colors or just scream "kid zone," but House of Noa makes the most gorgeous play mats that can blend into your home. They look like chic rugs but are well-cushioned, wipeable, and easy to put together like puzzle pieces. We have one in our living room — a 12-piece — and a smaller one in my son’s bedroom.
We’ve been using them since birth. My son practiced tummy time on them, learned how to crawl on them, and now dances to Wheels on the Bus on them. The best part is that they’re non-toxic which gives me total peace of mind.
When it comes to baby products, quality over quantity is key. These items made our lives so much easier as parents, and I’d recommend them to any new parent without hesitation. If you’re building your registry, these are worth the space on your list!
