I’m sure you’ve noticed, too — we’ve got LOTS of mamas-to-be and new moms this year. Two of my friends have just recently given birth to their adorable babies, while 3 other friends are expecting early next year. And this is just people I’m relatively close to, so I’m not even including acquaintances! The exciting thing is — there will be so many new mini friends to meet when it’s all safe enough to travel again.

Since I won’t be able to see most of them anytime soon, I made a point to look for quality, thoughtful gifts that they will actually use and (hopefully) love. Read on for more.

Maternity Leggings by Girlfriend Collective

The ethical activewear brand Girlfriend Collective makes killer leggings that are sustainably chic, and they offer maternity versions in different colors, too! I’m sure they’ll make our friends feel cute when they go out for walks or run errands.

When I started noticing my “quarantine belly,” at one point, I even considered getting the maternity versions just to see how they’d fit me. No joke :-P

The Brazilian beauty giant Natura launched a Mommy & Baby Care collection featuring gentle and safe products made specifically for babies’ sensitive skin.

This care set is for the mama. It includes a fragrance-free stretch marks cream and a stretch marks shower oil, both rich in almond oil to together improve skin elasticity.

I know when I am pregnant, my biggest concern will be swelling in the legs and ankles (because that’s literally already a concern now.)

This brand offers compression socks in various styles that are designed to alleviate swelling and improve blood flow, an effective and easy way to reduce pregnancy related edema. Your friend will be thanking you for being able to say goodbye to swollen legs and feet. (And if you’re my friend, please get this for the future-me, thank you.)

This beauty brand offers 10-free vegan polishes and a wide range of toxic-free nail care products that are safe for pregnant women to use.

Looking down to see pretty nails may seem insignificant but I think sometimes it is enough to uplift someone’s mood! Some of my favorite products include polishes in the colors No. 01 and No. 17, the Soy Polish Remover, and the Hydrating Cuticle Serum.

P.S. You can get 10% off your order with promo code happilyeverstyle.

Handmade cape from Italy by Marta Scarampi

If you’re open to splurging for a gift, consider elegant capes handmade in Italy! They are created for everyone but the flow of the cape works perfectly over the bump. So this is really a gift with longevity, since she can wear it throughout her pregnancy and after, too.

The brand’s iconic Rachel Mondrian Cape as seen here is wrinkle-resistant, which makes it easier for new moms to throw over anything and instantly look put-together. The style comes in 4 different colors.

The Book Expecting Better by Emily Oster

By the same author Emily Oster of Cribsheet: A Data-Driven Guide to Better, More Relaxed Parenting, from Birth to Preschool, this highly-rated book talks about why the conventional pregnancy wisdom is incorrect and what you really need to know. I think one can never go wrong with gifting knowledge!

A mom of two, Oster is a professor and her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes and more.

Leather leggings for the big belly? Oh yes. The friend who strives for comfort and refuses to sacrifice style will love these!

Based on what the brand wrote on the website, the waistband is a unique design that allows new moms to continue wearing these leggings before, during and after pregnancy, too!
