The perfect pair of ballet flats: I had to get them in a second color!

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know I’m all about shoes that are ultra-chic and comfortable. No matter how beautiful they are, if they are not truly wearable, I will forbid myself from getting them. I’ve made too many mistakes and wasted too much money in the past — I will not allow myself to repeat them anymore.
I take my time to find shoes that are designed and made to last for years to come. Once in a while, I would go for something that’s trending but most of the time, I believe in classic, timeless designs.
For a long time, I've searched and searched for ballet flats that can function as my everyday go-to’s — something that is not too fancy for the playground (I have an 18-month-old toddler) but not too sloppy for meeting my clients or attending an event. And I’m happy to say: I’ve found them! In fact, I love them so much, I got the same pair in a second (and third) color. Read on to see how I style them.
FYI: You can find secondhand Freda Salvador footwear in really great condition here!
At first I was worried that the square-toe design would be less flattering than the usual round or pointy-toe styles I tend to gravitate towards but then I realized they still had the lengthening effect when I put them on. I have wider feet so I also find the square-toe design to be roomier and more comfortable. The cushion on the bottom, the footbed, is very well-padded, too.
Because I love the gold pair so much, I decided to get them in another color. For the longest time, I was debating between white and red. Ultimately, I decided to go for white because I knew it would go with everything I used to wear with my white sneakers (which, funny enough, are also from Freda Salvador).
If you’re still unsure of the square-toe design, the footwear brand also launched the ROMA Round-toe Ballet Flat earlier this year — it has more of the traditional ballet flat look but with the same comfort level and beautiful woven details.
When I saw them, I couldn’t resist. I just knew how comfortable the soft leather is going to be. So, I finally picked out the red ones this time!
If you’re looking for everyday ballet flats that are chic but truly comfortable, I highly recommend these woven leather ones from Freda Salvador. Let me know which color you end up picking in the comments below if you do choose to give them a try!
Thank you for stopping by Happily Ever Style as always.
