5 wardrobe staples from Sézane you'll love to wear now and later

I’m a proud outfit repeater. Although I sometimes buy trending items, they only make up less than 20% of my closet. When you open my closet, you’ll likely find timeless pieces designed and made to last for a long time, pieces I know I will not get tired of wearing. Since I moved to Manhattan almost seven years ago, I’ve become more mindful of how I shop. In the beginning, it was thanks to living in a small studio apartment; the limited closet space trained me to re-think about what stays and what goes.

In this post, I’m sharing five wardrobe staples from Sézane, one of my favorite brands to shop at, that will always have a spot in my closet.

1. The casual cotton white shirt

This is the most essential item in my closet. I wear it on its own, over a tank, under a sweater — the ways of styling it is just endless.

2. The light wool black sweater

Merino wool is a fabulous fabric that is not just soft to the touch but also reliable. I have the same sweater in a few colors and they are great for layering, too.

3. The wear-everywhere blazer

When in doubt, I throw on a blazer. This style comes in so many colors but my go-to has always been this camel one.

4. The work-and-play cropped pant

Unlike most people who have jeans as wardrobe staples, I tend to prefer pants that are high-waisted and cropped because I have shorter legs. I find them easy to dress up and down, especially when they’re black or cream. This pair has gone everywhere with me — client meetings, dinner dates, the museum and more.

5. The way-too-classic trench coat

Name something more timeless than a trench coat — you literally cannot find something more classic than this.
