Treat yourself, because your skin deserves it!
The skincare products mentioned in this blog post were gifts from Chanel; opinions are 100% my own.
When it comes to buying beauty products, I have always been more willing to splurge on skincare over makeup products. I feel like with skincare products, you're developing a long-term, stable relationship, while makeup products are just short flings! (Ya know what I'm sayin'?)
Over the years, I have invested in various luxury skincare lines and came to realize that the best investments are made in products that moisturize and hydrate your skin because a lot of issues derive from dehydrated skin (which is different from dry skin!).
When your skin is lacking water, it produces more oil to make up for the lack of water. This then leads to large pores, breakouts, irritation etc. And one of my biggest concerns is open pores, so ensuring that my skin is well-moisturized is very important to me. Hence, from the many skincare lines under Chanel Beauty, I went straight to the Hydra Beauty line.
The Hydra Beauty collection is pretty unique. It is the first skincare line using camellia preserved in micro-droplets! Camellia is a source of antioxidants and Omega-6 fatty acids, as well as moisturizing properties that provide our skin with deep hydration. The technology was created at Harvard and it actually has 5 worldwide exclusive patents, too!
Read on to check out my top 3 products from Hydra Beauty collection:
HYDRA BEAUTY MICRO LIQUID ESSENCE
This is a lightweight essence that is perfect for the summer. The formula features the combination of camellia micro-droplets and blue ginger, which is a great antioxidant!
I love this product because it moisturizes my skin but I think it also makes my skin a little softer. It hydrates my dry cheeks without making my oily t-zone oilier; it works really well for anyone who has combination skin like me.
I use the essence after I've removed my make up, cleansed my face, and before I apply a serum or face oil at night.
Generally, I don't need a lot to cover my face, so I imagine this 150ml bottle will last me a while.
HYDRA BEAUTY MICRO CRÈME
This cream smells amazing! It keeps my skin moisturized for a really long time. The texture is water-like and cooling to my skin; it makes my skin feel really clean and fresh.
One of the ingredients in the formula is called Camellia Alba OFA, which is a highly-concentrated form of camellia oil extract that has the ability to give us plump skin.
I've recently started taking more care of my neck because according to my grandma, that is where it really shows someone's age! So when I apply this cream, I extend it down to my neck area, too.
And did I mention how amazing it smells?
HYDRATING OXYGENATING OVERNIGHT MASK
If you've read my other beauty blog posts before, then you probably already know my obsession with multi-functional products.
This overnight mask is great because it works for your face as well as your lips! I often wake up to cracked lips so I really love that this mask takes good care of my lips, too.
The mask features a high concentration of camellia flowers. Unlike the above two products, which looks more transparent to begin with, the texture of the mask is light but a little creamier to start, before it transforms into a water-like consistency when you massage it into your skin.
Even after having stayed up late at night, my skin manages to look rested and radiant in the morning when I use this mask. And for that reason, I love using it the night before a photo shoot or a big event like attending someone's wedding for that extra glow!

Skin Type: Combination skin with an oily T-zone area (forehead and nose). Changes in climate, diet and/or lack of sleep irritates skin and causes inflammation, which then leads to large pores. High moisture level required on dry cheeks.
