I love versatile pieces that are meant to be worn in multiple ways. People often think that means I like “basic items” like a white tank top because they can be styled with different bottoms. And while I do adore a good classic tank, I also love unique garments that are cleverly and intentionally designed to be versatile. A great example is this linen romper and matching linen maxi skirt I recently added to my wardrobe.

The Mary Romper + Long Skirt Set

The set is designed and handmade by Italian brand Marta Scarampi.

I love wearing the set together but enjoy mixing the pieces with what I already have in my closet. Click here to see how I styled the romper and skirt for various occasions!

My issue with light-colored linen skirts or dresses is how see-through it can be sometimes. I want to wear them all the time because linen is breathable and perfect for the hot summer days or when traveling to places with warmer climates. But the see-through factor would stop me from picking them out from my closet. And I think that’s why I love this set — when the skirt goes over the romper, it allows for more coverage on the bottom.

If you’ve read my blog posts before, you’ll know I’m a fan of Marta Scarampi because they make elegant, sophisticated pieces by hand and promote the concept of slow fashion. Best known for their capes and blazers, one of the brand’s goals is to offer women timeless wardrobe staples created to last for many years to come.
