Although I’m mostly a fan of crime shows (I put Criminal Minds on in the background when I don’t know what to watch), I also really watching period dramas. I recently read Bridgerton: The Duke and I by Julia Quinn when the TV show gained its popularity on Netflix; I thought it was cute and a delightful read! With Season 2 confirmed, I thought okay, it’s time to give the show a watch.
The Regency-era British drama transported me into another space and time which was actually a great mini-escape this winter. One of the things that stood out to me was undoubtedly the Bridgerton wardrobe. So just for fun, I decided to put together a look inspired by the show.
Read on to get some ideas in case you decide to host a Bridgerton-inspired tea party, birthday gathering, or bridal shower this spring and summer.

The main character: A romantic maxi dress
I thought this was going to be a challenge at first, but I could not be more wrong. It hopped onto Shopbop’s Dress Shop (where I tend to look first for any fashion items) and found so many perfect options. I actually had a hard time narrowing down my choices but finally went with this beautiful tiered lace dress by LoveShackFancy.
The dress’s mint green color gives me all the spring vibes so I couldn’t resist. And the square neckline is so cute; I love that it can be worn off-the-shoulder, too. I’m 5’3” so I was a bit worried the dress would be too long on me, but it turned out to be a great length with my kitten heels.
2. The key side character: Lace gloves
During the Regency Era, gloves were essential accessories for women to show their social class; it was considered “poor breeding” to be seen without gloves. They would have them on when they attend balls, go to the opera, or have dinner with friends. So naturally, my Bridgerton-inspired look cannot be complete without a pair of lace gloves.
3. The final touch: A headband
Well, technically it should be more like a hairpiece to go with an updo, but realistically, not everyone is as talented when it comes to creating an elegant-looking bun (I’m only good at the wash-my-face, messy bun).
I, therefore, opted for a beaded headband instead. It allows me to simply add to how I usually wear my hair down. I curled my hair to add texture and get a more romantic aesthetic. It was easy, very hassle-free, and anyone can achieve this themselves.
So what do you think? Would you try a Bridgerton-inspired look? If you do (or already did), please share the link to your look in the comments below! I’d love to see!
