Guys! I just launched my shop, featuring iron-on embroidered patches that I designed!

So about a year ago, I started sharing words and quotes on my Instagram. My goal was to spread positive messages and share good vibes with my followers, in addition to the fashion and beauty content on my page. To my surprise, they were the most saved, most shared posts with the highest impression. I was really happy that people were liking the content, and wanted to take it further. However, I never got around to it because — you know, life.

And then COVID-19 happened. Within a week, my marketing agency Once Upon lost more than half of our clients and nearly 70% of our monthly revenue. Thankfully, my husband’s job hasn’t been affected by the pandemic, and we also have savings.

My iron-on patches are now available to order at www.happilyeverstyle.com.

I continued working for my clients and re-constructing the agency, but with the extra time on hand (and eventually boredom from staying home), I decided to finally get on with my “words and quotes project.” I also wanted to diversify my income, and figured this would be a great opportunity to do so!

Originally, my idea was to make postcards and stickers. But around the same time, I noticed people were into doing a lot of at-home activities, like knitting, doing puzzles, painting, and tie-dying. So then I decided to create products that allows people to do at home by themselves or with their loved ones!

And that’s how my iron-on patches were born! I used the No. 1 most popular quote on my Instagram page — “Magical things happen when you choose to be kind to others.” for my first collection, which includes 3 different designs. There are also options of getting sets of 2 patches, and sets that includes a patch and a canvas tote bag.

Most importantly, in order to contribute to those who are heavily impacted by coronavirus, I’m donating 15% of all proceeds to No Kid Hungry every month throughout the year. Many kids have trouble getting 3 meals a day, especially because schools are closed, and in my opinion, they are the most vulnerable; that’s why I chose the organization that supports children.

The patches can be ironed onto several types of fabrics, such as cotton and denim. Some of the things you can now customize with the patches include jeans, denim jacket, backpacks, t-shirts and sweatshirts. They can also be sewn on instead of ironed for those who prefer that option. Alternatively, you can frame it as a photo to display on your desk if you wish!

You can check out the simple step-by-step guide here to learn more about how to customize your own clothing.

1
Pre-heat the area where you plan to iron on the patch.
2
Then place the patch in position and cover it with a cloth.
3
Apply pressure with the iron over the cloth and hold for intervals of 5-8 seconds.
4
Slowly move in a circular motion to ensure the iron covers every corner of the patch.
5
Remove the cloth and check if the patch is ironed on. Let it cool for a few hours before first wear.
6
And there you go — you’ve just gotten yourself a customized denim jacket!
