The Five Things: March Must-haves
Hi, everyone!
March used to mean spring is around the corner, but I vividly remember seeing heavy snow in New York last year! Regardless, I'm just happy that we are one step closer to spring.
Read on to see the five must-haves in March:
A Hot Pink Piece
The season's it-color, the fuchsia hue, was seen all over the runway during New York Fashion Week. So right before I left New York for Taiwan, I got myself a new sweater from NA-KD (you can use my promo code happilyeverstyle20 to get 20% off your entire order) in hot pink.
I decided to style my new sweater with a red beret for a touch of Parisian flair, and a pair of light blue jeans to keep the overall look more casual. I haven't found a pair of hot pink pants that I like yet, but once I do, I think I might try a monochromatic fuchsia look!
A Pair of Cutout Booties
[#Sponsored] I love a good pair of cutout booties because they are great transitional pieces. Plus, the cutout design tends to make my legs look longer from the side, and that is a big bonus for me!
Recently, I discovered a brand called BALA DI GALA, offering a collection of unique boots. I fell in love with a black pair named Fika Garden when I saw it on the website, mainly because of the hand-painted botanic flowers!
Every pair of Fika Garden takes artists several hours to paint and is certainly one-of-a-kind. The boots' high-quality leather make them durable and very comfortable to wear. The unboxing experience was quite memorable; the boots came in a very nice box and has a pretty dust bag!
So if you're looking for a pair of cutout booties and like all things unique, be sure to check out the collection on BALA DI GALA!
A Good Highlighter
My current favorite makeup product is a good highlighter! I think I've "accidentally" purchased too many recently, but I just can't get enough of them! I love the dewy c-curve look around my eyes, giving my face more definition. Together with blush, I feel like my skin looks glowy and very healthy!
One of my favorite highlighters is the Vanish Flash Highlighting Stick in Champagne by Hourglass because the shape of the stick is triangular, which makes it easy to angle it upwards from below my eye to my temples. It is also very blendable (I just use my figners) and buildable, so I carry it with me when I travel, too. If you want to opt for a cheaper option, I highly suggest Glossier's Haloscope.
Small, 90's-Inspired Sunglasses
A #streetstyle essential piece that seems to effortlessly spice up any look is a pair of chic sunglasses, but in particular, a small cat-eye 90's-inspired pair!
I have a round face, so I like sunglasses with a cat-eye design, whether the frame is small or large. I think it provides me with the "lines" and "shape" that my facial structure is lacking.
I've been loving how some of my favorite influencers like Aimee Song and Jenny Cipoletti look in them!
Glossier's Solution
So I got Glossier's Solution about a month ago and have been using it daily. Sometimes once a day, and other times, twice a day. I love this product because although it is an "exfoliator," it is very gentle! It is designed to clear acne and blackheads, shrink pores and reduce redness, which quite frankly, covers my two largest concerns: large, open pores and inflammation.
I have gotten compliments from people about how glowy my skin has been (my grandma actually thought I might be pregnant because of a "pregnant glow," haha). I definitely could tell that my skin is healthier, with fewer blackheads, too. My skin still goes red, but I don't think that was ever an easy task to tackle.
