The Alphabets of [Little Things That Make My Day]

Hi, everyone!

I'm continuing my alphabet series today, featuring the "D, E and F" of all things that help make my day! The insignificant subjects or unimportant places may seem irrelevant sometimes, but together, they might just put a smile back on your face, be what lifts you up or give you the push to move forward! I consider myself a rather optimistic person, but there are days when I just need a little help. Well, don't we all?

[D] etox Juices

Every now and then, when I feel sluggish or my skin is acting up, I hit my body's reset button by doing a detox session with juices. I usually pick 3, 4 days out of a week to do it. I think when my body feels "cleaner" and my skin subsequently clearer, my mood naturally becomes better, too.

I first came across the idea of going on a "cleanse" in college, when my roommate brought a juicer home one day and started replacing cereal and milk with homemade juices for breakfast. I remember having doubts about her choice, but I also didn't have enough knowledge or experience to say otherwise. Over a course of about two weeks, visible results started kicking in! Her skin was clearing up and glowing. Watching her "transform" motivated me to give the whole "detox" thing a try, and I've been hooked ever since.

In previous years, I mostly made my own juices. However, I recently came across a brand called Dirty Lemon that offers a collection of healthy beverages, and I have to admit, its just so much easier to simply twist open a bottle and drink it.

The original Daily Detox (16oz) is the one I've been having the past few months and I really recommend it! Mostly, it just tastes like lemon water, although it actually has fresh ginger puree, activated charcoal from coconut shells and some pink Himalayan sea salt in it as well. The juice is designed to improve digestion and gently cleanse our system.

Dirty Lemon initially gifted me a pack of 6 complimentary bottles, but I started ordering them regularly after having tried them out.

Personally, I find that I'm less bloated after the first day, and when I have bad water retention, it helps with the situation as well.

If you're interested in making your own juice, one of my favorite recipes is to blend fresh kale, Granny Smith apple, green grapes, and cucumber. I love it because it is also high in iron and vitamin K.

[E] mbroidery

There are days when simple outfits are needed because we are not always and forever in the mood to dress up. But it would be so nice if simple outfits come with great details that effortlessly glams up the look without much hassle. One easy way to do this is to pick out one item with embroidery designs!

My block heels from Jessica Simpson is less than $70 a pair and so comfortable to walk in. It added character to my otherwise plain outfit.

My recent favorite go-to piece is this black top from Club Monaco. The collar has really pretty sequin details and adds a feminine touch to the all-black outfit.

[F] riends / [F] amily

Last, but not least, my "F" is undoubtedly friends and family. They make my bad days good, good days great, and great days fantastic. Thanks to modern technology, despite being oceans and continents away from my parents and closest friends, I'm able to reach out to them and feel supported by a simple text or a phone call. Nothing beats that!

That's all from me today. By the way, check out the A, B and C, too!

Thank you for reading!

Love,
